Members Retrofit Aircraft Aiding in Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill

May 19, 2010

Canada is lending a hand in the Gulf of Mexico’s oil spill disaster by dispatching one of its’ three pollution patrol/surveillance aircraft. This aircraft and two others were retrofitted with a state of the art sensors, communication equipment and tracking technology by members from our Local. The project was completed by an exceptional team of technologists (Aircraft Maintenance Engineers-Category E) in  Transport Canada’s Aircraft Services Directorate.

This team of multi-skilled technologists worked tirelessly under intense pressure and shifting timelines over the past several years to complete these complex projects destined to better serve this countries’ and now this continents’ interests. A job well done!!!!
