Call for Bargaining Proposals – Treasury Board Negotiations for Federal IBEW 2228 Members

As the current collective agreement between IBEW Local 2228 and the Treasury Board approaches its expiry on August 31, 2026, we’re preparing for the next round of bargaining. To build the strongest possible position at the table, we are inviting all federal members across Canada to submit bargaining proposals.

Proposals are essential. The bargaining team relies on input from the membership both to negotiate effectively and to understand the membership’s priorities. Strong, well-written proposals form the foundation of a focused and defensible bargaining mandate.

All proposals must be submitted through the Bargaining Proposal Manager (BPM) on the secure side of the website. If you need access, you can register using your BA number, or contact the office at office@ibew2228.ca for assistance.

When preparing your proposal, please:

• Complete all fields thoroughly.
• Clearly identify the issue your proposal addresses.
• Include enough detail for the team to understand the full impact.

This level of detail equips the bargaining team to advocate more effectively on your behalf.

The deadline for submissions is March 31, 2026. Late submissions will still be reviewed, but may not receive full committee consideration and could be deferred to a later round.

Proposals will be reviewed by Local/Regional Steering Committees, who will send representatives to a National Steering Committee. The National Committee will take the recommendations from the Regional Committees and determine which proposals move forward. Members of the bargaining team will be also chosen from this group.

If you’re interested in serving on a steering committee, please contact your Executive Board Member. Broader participation strengthens the process and helps ensure the team understands the realities our members face across the country.

Negotiating a contract takes preparation, detail, and member engagement. Whether you submit a proposal, join a committee, or simply share your thoughts with fellow members, your involvement directly equips the bargaining team and strengthens our collective position.
