The IBEW Local 2228 negotiating team met with Nav Canada from October 31 to November 3rd.
The local tabled several proposals concerning a number of topics including vacation, personal leave, overtime, and the posting of shift schedules. The team also continued to work on developing proposals for staffing and competency programs.
The employer tabled proposals regarding scheduling, staffing and vacation and delivered a presentation on the status of the Nav Canada Pension Plan.
The local’s bargaining team worked through many difficult topics and developed many robust proposals for further discussion during our next week of bargaining with the employer.
Progress was made on some administrative and housekeeping items in the agreement; however, the local’s team will be working to reach consensus with the employer on a number of items that have been tabled during the next session.
The local’s team will be meeting with the employer the week of November 20th to continue bargaining.
